“Here is eternal spring; for you the very stars of heaven are new.” ✷ Inside the halls of my alma mater, The Cathedral of Learning at the University of Pittsburgh. It was built in 1926 in a Late Gothic Revival style of architecture with Art Deco influences- swoon! The main common room has vaulted ceilings made in true gothic style (no steel supports used for the arches) that span four stories with ironwork railings on the balconies surrounding it and ironwork lanterns to illuminate the space. It was famously called one of the “great architectural fantasies of the twentieth century.” I loved having classes in this dreamy building, it was like a real-life Hogwarts! If you’re ever in Pittsburgh, stop by and check it out! (at Cathedral of Learning)
